Riverfront Property Sold to Developer

A large portion of the east side of the riverfront downtown has been sold to CF Development out of Madison. Craig Frank, owner, has presented preliminary plans for residential development along that stretch of the riverfront.

Packaging Tape, Inc. Moves In

Packaging Tape, Inc.

Packaging Tape, Inc. is at home in their new building on International Drive. The new 53,000 sq. ft. facility replaces the former building which is located at 4900 Stewart Avenue. The building at 4900 Stewart Avenue is for sale, and is 28,000 sq. ft. of warehouse space with some offices. Packaging Tape specializes in packaging needs and supplies.

Wausau Window and Wall Building Progresses

Wausau Window and Wall Systems

Miron Construction is working fast and furiously to construct the new 370,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility and corporate office for Wausau Window and Wall Systems in the Wausau West Industrial Park. The new address is on International Drive just west of 72nd Avenue. Plans are on track for a late summer 2008 occupancy.

Scott Street Demolition

Demolition is complete on the 100 block of Scott Street, opening up the view and clearing away the deteriorating buildings that once stood on the south side of that block. The property is owned by McDEVCO, the county’s economic development agency, which will hold the property for future development. The City intends to pave the lot temporarily for surface parking.

Development Center Update

The Wausau Business Development Center is an active, busy place.  The manufacturing space is filled, the Inventor’s Café is open for business (serving coffee drinks, breakfast and lunch daily) and there is office space for lease.  Call Community Development at 261-6680 for more information.

The former incubator is available for sale, located at 1300 Cleveland Avenue in the heart of Wausau.  The 70,000 sq. ft. building is on 7.43 acres.  The building has been appraised at $862,000.  For more information call 715-261-6680.

The Edison Club for Inventors and Entrepreneurs meets monthly at the Wausau Business Development Center, 100 72nd Avenue in the Wausau West Industrial Park.  Meetings occur on the fourth Thursday of the month starting at 6:30 pm.
