Transportation infrastructure is necessary for the effective movement of people and goods within a community, as well as regionally and nationally.  At the same time, car crashes are one of the leading causes of death in the United States, highlighting one of the negative effects of the transportation network and one of the greatest challanges.  The transportation system includes the road network, pedestrian and bicycle facilities, railroads, airports, public transit and freight.



Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee


The Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee assists the City as needed to improve bicycle and pedestrian accommodations in the City of Wausau.


Meetings are held on the third Monday of the month at 4:00 p.m.  Please check the City of Wausau Calendar to confirm whether a meeting will be held.


The Committee is comprised alderpersons and  five citizen members appointed by the Mayor.  A member of the Wausau Police Department serves as a liaison to the Committee.
