Wausau Arts Commission

The Public Art Commission exists to advise the City Council on the planning, programming, procurement, installation, operations and maintenance of public visual art projects and artworks.  Arts investments create jobs, leverage private gifts, build a sense of place, invite tourism, revitalize neighborhoods, attract creative people, cultivate democracy, preserve cultural legacy, generate local tax revenue and enhance our quality of life.

Meetings of the Public Art Commission are held on the first Wednesday of the month.  Please check the City of Wausau Calendar for meeting time and location.

The committee is comprised of seven members appointed by the Mayor with the approval of the City Council to serve two year terms.  Members should have knowledge in the various studies of art.
